Supreme Court upholds use of race in university affirmative action case

The Supreme Court has ruled to uphold the use of race in college admissions for the University of Texas, in the case of Fisher v. University of Texas. The plaintiff was Abigail Fisher. She is a white woman who was denied admission to UT. She challenged the constitutionality of UT's consideration of race and ethnicity as a factor in undergraduate college admissions.
