In 2015, one of President Obama's goals was to make community college free for all Americans. So far, California has moved aggressively to make this a reality.

Head to California for free college

To date, at least 30 programs offering financial support to incoming community college students are active in California.

UC's undergraduate tuition and fees are nearly $13,500 a year for in-state students and $40,000+ for out-of-state students. With the price tag being so high, California’s 100+ community colleges have become an increasingly attractive option for families looking for alternatives to the state’s public universities.
